Nationals is typically the seasoning ending grand event.  The goal is to get to the podium and if not, to end the season with a personal best.  Well, Avery Jordan, went into the 2017 AAU Junior Olympic Games, with both goals in mind. Avery competed in two events, the 200 meter hurdles and the 100 meter hurdles.  She entered into the 200 meter hurdle event, seeded #34 out of 91 athletes and then the gun went off for the preliminary round.  Avery ran the prelim, setting a personal record of 28.52 and climbed the ladder from #34 to #7 to make her way into the final.  In the final, she ran 28.62 and it was off to the podium.

Avery ran well in the 100 hurdles prelims, but it wasn’t enough to make it back to the medal stand.

Great job Avery, all of your hard work paid off in an “All American” status.

Congratulations!!!!
